James "Jim" F. Harns Lansing Went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with cancer.

 Born June 12, 1945 to James and Shirley (Lapp) Harns in Lansing, MI. Jim was the C.O.O. of Saline Community Hospital.

He retired from Eaton Rapids Medical Center where he was the Human Resources Director. Jim was a former member of the Saline Kiwanis Club and the Capital City Toastmasters.

 Preceding him in death was his father. He is survived by his wife, of 44 years, Diane (Cleveland) Harns; daughter, Dana Harns; son, Daniel (Leila) Harns;

 granddaughter, October Harns; mother, Shirley; sister, Claudette Holmberg; brothers, Philip, Vern, Jeffery and Allan Harns; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services were held Friday, January 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Riverview Church at 3585 Willoughby Rd Holt, MI 48842.

 For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to either Eaton Community Hospice or McLaren Visiting Nurse & Hospice in Jim's name.

Robert "Bob" Edward Lipka Lansing Beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 65.

Bob was born in Johnstown, PA, on November 1, 1945, the son of Paul and Pauline Lipka.

 He retired after 38 years of service with General Motors. While working at GM, Bob received several awards for his creative and innovative ideas.

 He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, who served his country stationed primarily in Spain.

Those who had the pleasure to know Bob soon figured out that his crusty exterior housed a warm and tender heart.

 He was a devoted husband and father who helped raise four wonderful sons and who adored and was adored by his grandchildren.

 Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter who greatly enjoyed camping with his family. He was equally happy taking countless getaways with his wife to casinos throughout Michigan.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Eugene Lipka. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sandra (Cunningham) Lipka;

 sons, Todd (Mary), Eric, Colin (Nikoma) and Cole Lipka; grandchildren, Megan, Haley, Eathen and Kalin Lipka;

 sister, Joan Ehrmantrout; several nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends.

 He will be dearly missed. Funeral services were held Friday, December 10, at 11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1900 Boston Blvd., Lansing.

LeRoy S. Clemens

 

Age 81, our loving father, and grandfather passed away August 5, 2010.
Born August 2, 1929 in Kent County, MI. LeRoy earning his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Music from M.S.U. He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal and Ft. Knox Band Director from 1952-54.

He was the first Band Director and taught history at Everett High School for many years.

 He was a member, manager, and second oboist of the Lansing Symphony Orchestra, and was member of the Lansing Community Band.

 He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. He loved sailing.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn in April 2010; parents, Alvin & Frances Clemens; sister, Elinore Watson; brother, Alvin Clemens
Surviving are his four children, Christopher (Kelli) Clemens, Joseph (Kate) Clemens, Frances (Marty) Jones, and Jeanne (Jerry) Sutton;

12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30 P.M. in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing.
Funeral Liturgy is 10:30 A.M. Monday, August 9, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Fr. Pieter van Rooyen presiding.

Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Monday at church. Rite of committal St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
